As an independent, compact volume, the square building creates a strong contrast and presents an extroverted character. The different school uses are stacked vertically. The central staircases provide short and efficient connections between the different levels while also separating the various circulation flows. All rooms around the central core benefit from direct daylight and enjoy unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape. The solid concrete base forms a robust and durable envelope around the building, protecting the timber structure and façade from the weather. The reduced material palette creates a natural appearance and reinforces the building’s sense of simplicity and clarity.
