The competition site is located in Addis Ababa directly along a main road. Integrated into the heterogeneous surroundings, the two-storey embassy building is positioned directly at the required setback from Jimma Road, creating a clear edge towards the busy street. Additively arranged volumes form the building mass, reflecting the smaller scale of the surrounding buildings and interlocking with the garden. The building acts as a connecting element between street and garden, public and private, while still providing intimate and protected spaces. The staggered spatial arrangement creates engaging visual connections.
