The campus of the Intercantonal Police Academy in Hitzkirch is listed in the Swiss Inventory of Sites Worthy of Protection. The Aula building is to be adapted to accommodate new teaching spaces, a reception area, and offices. Out of respect for the overall character of the complex, preserving the character of the Aula appears to be the appropriate approach. The existing Aula is characterised by its timber interior, which will be retained. The qualities of the stepped ceiling and walls will also be preserved. The large hall can now be flexibly divided into up to three seminar rooms using sliding partitions. The reception area will be prominently located at the entrance to the complex.
