The Central Swiss anniversary project “Gästival” brings together tourism, culture, social life, and history under one roof. The heart of Gästival is the floating platform. The “Seerose” serves as a meeting place for visitors and hosts, festival-goers, associations, and the local population. The floating platform is an abstraction of a water lily and is intended to be perceived neither as a building nor as a boat, but rather as a floating sculpture. Four grandstands represent the petals of the water lily and structure the overall form. Their arrangement creates a distinction between interior and exterior spaces.
