The design transforms the village centre into a diverse place for different generations and uses. Historic buildings such as the «Chäsi» and the «Schüür» are preserved and provide the framework for a moderate densification. Offset building volumes create a network of open public spaces and green areas for people to gather and stay. The street space is understood as an integral part of the centre. The residential buildings comprise cross-ventilated apartments of different sizes, oriented towards the sun and Lake Sempach. The new timber buildings draw on traditional construction methods while developing them into a contemporary expression of the place.
